Not in crisis but need someone to listen?
Try the Warm Line

The Warm Line provides non-crisis, confidential telephone support services to persons impacted by life’s (sometimes) overwhelming issues. The Warm Line is a friendly telephone support line, operated by trained volunteers who offer non-judgmental peer support, who actively listen to callers’ concerns and generally understand the callers’ perspectives due to shared experiences with behavioral health issues.

The Warm Line is a non-funded, free service to anyone in Maricopa County and was taken over by Behavioral Health Consumers in Action, Inc. on July 1, 2009.  (Formerly operated by Triple R, Inc.)

Jewish Family and Children’s Service - (JFCS) is a non-profit, nonsectarian organization founded in 1935, whose mission is to strengthen the community by offering high quality behavioral health and social services to children, families and adults of all ages throughout Maricopa County, in accordance with a Jewish value system that cares about all humanity. JFCS' services are provided without regard to faith, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, family size or income.

THE FAMILY INVOLVEMENT CENTER is a not-for-profit family run organization. Our mission is to assist and support families/caregivers, and help policy makers, agencies and providers transform systems, to ensure that children and youth with an emotional, behavioral, or mental health disorder succeed in school, live with their families, avoid delinquency and become productive adults.

Parent Information Network Specialists (PINS)

Arizona Department of Education:
PINS are consultants who provide on-site and phone consultation, training, resources, and information and referrals to support parents of special education students. PINS also assist educators and service providers to meet the needs of parents and encourage them to work with parents as equal partners.


Shelter Information:

Operated by the City of Phoenix CONTACS is a 24-hour, bilingual, hotline that provides up-to-the-minute shelter bed availability for victims of domestic violence and homelessness. CONTACS has a direct connection to over 70 domestic violence and homeless shelters in Maricopa County. These connections provide instant and updated information on bed availability.

Mental Health Support and Education:

NAMI AZ - National Alliance on Mental Illness of Arizona is a membership organization of persons affected by mental illnesses. We are the parents, children, spouses, siblings, and friends of persons with mental illness, as well as those persons themselves.

Mental Health America of Arizona - Mental Health America of Arizona promotes good mental health and works on behalf of all people living with mental illness by advocating, educating and shaping public policy.

MIKID - Mentally Ill Kids in Distress
To provide support and assistance to families in Arizona with behaviorally challenged children, youth, and young adults.

Raising Special Kids supports 10,000 families each year with disability-related resources, information, training, and support free of charge. Programs are offered in English and Spanish in Arizona, with Parent-to-Parent support as the heart of our mission.


Consumer Run Agencies:

REN - Recovery Empowerment Network: To provide peer-owned and operated services; to provide a unified voice for behavioral health consumers of Maricopa County and to work to change or enhance a service delivery system which meets the needs and desires of the people we are charged to serve.

Art Awakenings - Art Awakenings celebrates the purposeful process of self-discovery through creative experience for adults with mental illness. In a safe, supportive environment, opportunities exist for development of personal wellness and successful community living. Our program is committed to increasing public awareness of the unique gifts of the artists we serve.

North Phoenix Visions of Hope is a community based mental health agency providing day treatment programs and opportunities for life enhancement for Seriously Mentally Ill (SMI) adults in North Central Phoenix. People are able to move from isolation into the community at whatever level feels best for them to participate and contribute.

CHEEERS is a not-for-profit consumer run, consumer driven recovery oriented behavioral health service agency. We are dedicated to providing strength based recovery principled services for those diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder or behavioral challenges.

STAR - Stand Together And Recover. Our mission is to fulfill the basic needs of seriously mentally ill adults through self-help, non-clinical, consumer run services. To empower members through the philosophy of recovery to participate in a full continuum of services. We provide a comfortable gathering place, meals, a food pantry, outings, arts & crafts and living skills classes in addition to many other support programs. Substance abuse and chemical dependency support:

Double Trouble in Recovery - DTR is designed to meet the needs of the dually-diagnosed, and is clearly for those having addictive substance problems as well as having been diagnosed with a psychiatric disorders.

Alcoholics Anonymous - Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

Alanon/Alateen - For over 50 years, Al-Anon (which includes Alateen for younger members) has been offering hope and help to families and friends of alcoholics.

Marijuana Anonymous - Marijuana Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share our experience, strength, and hope with each other that we may solve our common problem and help others to recover from marijuana addiction.

Moderation Management - Moderation Management (MM)
is a behavioral change program and national support group network for people concerned about their drinking and who desire to make positive lifestyle changes.
